Despite another fine performance from backup Josh McCown, coach Marc Trestman said Jay Cutler would still be his starter when healthy.
The team is 4-4 under Cutler who has a lower quarterback rating than McCown. At the moment Trestman doesn't have to make that decision because Cutler's ankle has kept him sidelined since Week 11 and he hasn't been medically cleared to play.

The next word on Green Bay quarterback Aaron Rodgers should be after his Wednesday evaluation by team physician Dr. Pat McKenzie.
Rodgers (broken collarbone) has been allowed to practice, but without contact. The Detroit loss in Philadelphia kept the Packers in the playoff hunt so Rodgers has a reason to play again this season.

Vikings running back Adrian Peterson (foot sprain) will have his tests sent to a specialist.
Peterson is in a walking boot and early predictions are that he will miss the game against Philadelphia. This is Peterson, however, and he's surprised us in the past. The smart move is to pick up Toby Gerhart for insurance.

San Diego wideout Keenan Allen participated in the Chargers' Monday walkthrough.
Allen injured his shoulder in Sunday's game, but appears to be on schedule to play in Thursday's game against Denver. He's the Chargers' best wideout.
Cowboys linebacker Sean Lee just back from a hamstring injury, was forced out of Monday night's game with a neck injury.
Lee missed three weeks with the strained hamstring. Now this. It can't get much worse for the Cowboys best linebacker.
